The Friends of the Free Library of New Hope and Solebury will host a Harvest Moon Square Dance on Sept. 10 from 6 to 10 p.m. in the historic barn at Hope Ridge Farm in New Hope.
The Long Hill String Band will provide the hand-clapping, foot-stomping music, with calling by Sue Dupre. No experience is needed — anyone can quickly learn to do-si-do and swing their dance partner.
The cookie contest is another highlight of the evening, with entries by local realtors. Attendees can sample all the cookies, and vote for their favorite, and also enjoy light bites, beer, wine, soda or water. A basket by Manoff Market Gardens will be raffled.
Tickets are $35 for members, and $40 for non-members of the library. Proceeds will go toward programs and technology upgrades.
