The Pineville tavern is commemorating National Fried Chicken Day on July 6 by giving away “fried chicken lunchboxes” to anyone who stops by between noon and 2 p.m. Yes, that’s a 3-piece lunchbox filled with succulent, golden fried chicken (a drumstick, wing and thigh). Mon dieu.
Pineville Tavern owners Drew and Andrew Abruzzese also operate Levittown’s Big Q BBQ, which will launch a takeout and catering operation at the tavern that same day. Started in 2015, Big Q BBQ is known for Midwest barbecue, crispy fried chicken, and comfort sides.
“We decided to open this takeout store after hearing so many of our local friends say they loved our fried chicken and barbecue, but didn’t want to drive too far to get their fix,” explained Andrew. “Now, they won’t have to. Big Q BBQ Takeout & Catering at the Pineville Tavern will offer everything that is on the menu at the original location.”
Big Q’s takeout counter at the Pineville Tavern will be open Monday through Thursday, 4-9 p.m., and Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon to 10 p.m. The entire Big Q menu, which includes slow-smoked ribs and brisket, pulled pork, smoked and fried chicken, biscuits and all sides will be available to go, or for catering events.
