Lamberville Police Blotter: Open Alcohol Containers; Small Amounts of Weed; Theft of ‘Radio Flyer’ Wagon

Sherwood C. Elliot, 43, of Levittown, was arrested on May 8 at 3:04 p.m. for Obstructing the Administration of Law.

While on routine patrol, Sgt. Memolo observed Elliot’s vehicle driving at a high rate of speed in the area of State Highway 29 and Weeden Street. Sgt. Memolo followed Elliot’s vehicle as it continued south on State Highway 29 at a high rate of speed, eventually turning quickly into the parking lot of Jessy Lee’s Antiques.

When Sgt. Memolo entered the parking lot, Elliot’s vehicle was out of sight. Sgt. Memolo located Elliot’s vehicle hiding behind the building and conducted a motor vehicle stop. Elliot immediately exited his vehicle and advised that he was checking his tires.

Subsequent to investigation, Elliot stated that his actions were a result of attempting to avoid a traffic ticket. Elliot was placed under arrest and brought back to headquarters for processing. Sgt. Memolo charged Elliot with Obstructing the Administration of Law, Interference with a Police Officer, Speeding, and Failure to Yield Right of Way for Emergency Vehicles. Elliot was later released with a pending court date.

Case #16003994:

On May 11, a business operating out of an office on North Main Street reported the theft of a white envelope containing $500 in cash. The envelope was first noticed missing on May 6, and had been left on a TV stand in an office. Investigation revealed that several contractors with various employees have had access to the office area during the time the money was discovered to be missing. Ptl. Bast investigated.

Case #16004010:

Jake C. Whitaker, 20, of Doylestown, Daniel J. Begg, 20, of Lambertville, and John V. Conlon, 19, of Lambertville, were arrested on May 12 at 1 a.m. for multiple charges.

While on routine patrol, Lt. Brown observed Whitaker’s vehicle parked along the side of the road on Highland Avenue. Lt. Brown observed the vehicle was occupied, and made contact with the multiple subjects. Subsequent to investigation, Whitaker was found to be under the influence of alcohol and placed under arrest.

In addition, all occupants of the vehicle were found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and placed under arrest. Lt. Brown charged Whitaker with DUI, Possession of Less than 50 Grams of Marijuana, Possession of an Open Container of Alcohol, and CDS in a motor vehicle. Lt. Brown charged Begg with Possession of Less than 50 Grams of Marijuana and Possession of an Open Container of Alcohol. Lt. Brown charged Conlon with Possession of Less than 50 Grams of Marijuana and Possession of an Open Container of Alcohol. Whitaker, Begg, and Conlon were later released with a pending court date.

Case #16004048:

On May 13, a resident of Buttonwood Street reported the theft of a wagon from the side of her house. The wagon is described as a red “Radio Flyer” brand wagon, and was last seen leaning against the west side of the residence on May 12 at approximately 8:30 a.m. Neighbors reported seeing a man driving a black pickup truck stop and take the wagon. No further identifying information was reported, and there are no suspects at this time. Ptl. Pascoe investigated.

Case #16004065:

Joseph R. Oliver, 20, of Hamilton, N.J., was arrested on May 14 at 2:45 a.m. for Possession of CDS.

While on routine patrol, Ptl. Pascoe observed Oliver’s vehicle driving in the area of State Highway 29 at a high rate of speed. Ptl. Pascoe stopped Oliver in the area of York and George streets. Subsequent to investigation, Oliver was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and placed under arrest.

Ptl. Pascoe charged Oliver with Possession of Less than 50 Grams of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of an Open Container of Alcohol, and Speeding. Oliver was later released with a pending court date.
