Former Kiss lead guitarist and founding member Ace Frehley will take the stage at Havana New Hope on Saturday, Sept. 26.
For those too young to remember, Frehley took on the character of the “Spaceman,” playing with the group from 1973 until 1982. Frehley got back together with Kiss in 1996 for a reunion tour, after enjoying a successful solo career (his first album went platinum), and continued playing with the band until 2002.
His latest solo album, Space Invader, was released a year ago.
His solos often incorporate the minor pentatonic scale and the usage of vibratos, according to Wikipedia. They say Frehley is also known for the use of many whimsical guitars, including a Gibson Les Paul guitar which emits smoke from the neck humbucker pickup and produces 360 degrees spinning pyrotechnics, and a custom Les Paul that can emit light depending on the tempo of the song being played.
