A residential fire that broke out around 1 p.m. Sunday in the “G” section of the Waterworks complex at South Main Street in New Hope was quickly brought under control by firefighting units from several companies.
A New Hope firefighter suffered a minor hand injury, and was treated at the scene by medical staff — Lambertville and New Hope Ambulance and Rescue Squad and Central Bucks Ambulance-Rescue were at the site.
New Hope Eagle Fire Company also received assists from Midway Volunteer Fire Company, Lambertville Fire Department, and Upper Makefield Volunteer Fire Company.
The cause of the fire is inconclusive thus far, according to a fire company spokesperson, who indicated the blaze started on the rear balcony of a condominium, and firefighters were able to contain it there using external equipment, avoiding potential interior damage.
The fire official also pointed out that volunteers encountered an illegally parked vehicle blocking a fire hydrant upon arrival, and asked that the public be reminded to keep the hydrants clear. Done.
