A sport utility vehicle veered into the Delaware Canal from River Road just south of Centre Bridge at 11 a.m. Friday, say Solebury Township Police.
New Hope Eagle Fire Company was dispatched to handle a victim trapped inside. “The victim was extricated by using our small boat and two rescuers in cold water suits,” said New Hope Eagle in a statement on their Facebook site. “The victim was evaluated by EMS, and was not injured.”
“As you may imagine, the conditions made this tricky, and we added additional units to make sure that the victim, and the rescuers, all went home safely,” continued the fire company statement.
Assisting in the rescue were Midway Fire Company, Central Bucks Medic 146R, Lambertville New Hope Rescue Squad, Point Pleasant Fire Company, and Solebury Township Police.
