A car carrying at least one occupant crashed into the guardrail along West Mechanic Street at the base of the hill leading up to the Village Two residential development in New Hope Tuesday night.
The driver of the car, a silver, late model PT Cruiser-type vehicle, was apparently not severely injured by the collision, according to a worker clearing the scene. Police were not immediately available for comment.
The incident occurred at approximately 10:10 p.m. Tuesday, and was not preceded by the typical screeching of brakes, possibly indicating ice played a role in the crash. It was 14 degrees at the time.
The site has seen several such crashes in recent years.
