pete seeger new hope free pressCarversville Christian Church and New Hope-Solebury & Lambertville Community Choir will join forces on Sunday, Nov. 9 at 4 p.m. to present a Pete Seeger Commemorative Hootenanny. The concert will be held in honor of the iconic American folksinger, who passed away earlier this year.

Featured performers for the event include area musicians Michael Orrell, Liz Bowman, Ralph Smith, Steve Feuerstein, Rick Rosen, Suzan Bartles, John Danaher, and more. The program will be made up of original music, classic Pete Seeger songs, and sing-alongs designed in true hootenanny fashion for everyone to sing.

“For many of us in a certain age group, Pete Seeger’s influence was strong,” notes event producer Rick Rosen, artistic director/founder of the NHSLCC. “We think the best way to acknowledge Pete’s influence is to sing his songs and make some music in the hootenanny tradition.”

Prints of several photos of Seeger taken by Rosen’s father, legendary New Hope photographer Jack Rosen, will be available for sale at the event. A Seeger photo hand-printed by Jack will also be raffled.

Admission for the Pete Seeger Commemorative Hootenanny is $10, with net proceeds to be divided evenly between the NHS’s and LCC’s outreach efforts and charity work supported by the Carversville Christian Church. Tickets will be available at the door and can be reserved by contacting Carversville Christian Church, 3736 Aquetong Rd., in Carversville; 215.297.5166.
