Yes, it’s that time of year again: football, leaves starting to change color, preparing for Halloween and, of course, the annual Oyster Pork Supper at the Carversville Christian Church, now in its 143rd year.
The great thing about the supper is that it features a uniquely Bucks County take on surf n’ turf, with succulent roast pork and golden fried oysters. Add on stewed tomatoes, creamed corn, mashed potatoes, cold slaw, applesauce, and dessert, and you’ve got a country-good meal for the family just a couple of miles from the center of New Hope.
Price for the supper is $19 for adults, $8 for children five to eight years old, and children under age five eat for free. Takeouts are available for $20.
It all takes place on Saturday, Oct. 18 from 3-8 p.m. or until sold out at the Carversville Christian Church, 3736 Aquetong Road in Carversville; (215) 297-5166.
