Repaving of Windy Bush Road (Route 232) to begin Monday

penndotPennDot will begin work Monday to repave six deteriorated miles of Windy Bush Road (Route 232) from Wrightstown through Upper Makefield and Solebury, and on to New Hope.

It’s all part of a $1.4 million project being funded through Act 89, Pennsylvania’s new transportation plan.

On Monday, workers will repave the roadway between Route 413 (Durham Road) and Route 32 (River Road).

To expedite the repairs, says PennDot, Route 232 will be closed and detoured during construction weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Through traffic will be detoured over Routes 413,  202 and 32, and local access will be maintained up to the work area. Drivers are advised by PennDot to allow extra time when traveling during construction.

To make life even more complicated, motorists may also face lane closures weekdays from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. But PennDot says the project will finish by early October, more than a month ahead of the original Nov. 15 completion date, because the work will be done using a detour instead of solely single-lane closures.
