Dinghy launched from boat ramp at Waterloo Street by fire volunteers

Update 1:50 a.m.: New Hope fire official says man located, in good condition.

A man reportedly dove into the Delaware River at the southern end of New Hope near the towpath at around 11 p.m. Saturday night. Four police units, two ambulances, three fire chief/rescue vehicles, two additional fire trucks, two boats and other responders on the Pennsylvania side moved into action, setting up an initial staging area in the VFW parking lot.

Fan and other boats scoured the waters north and south of the wing dam from both the PA and NJ sides. A small motorized dinghy was launched from Waterloo Street after it was lifted across the out-of-commission fireworks barge by fire personnel and citizen volunteers. Fast response and excellent coordination by 46 and police units was apparent.
