Downtown New Hope was miraculously spared power interruption Wednesday, as towns all around the borough experienced partial or full electricity outages. More than 5,000 homes in Solebury alone were affected, with restoration estimates unpromising.
Businesses in New Hope remained in full swing, including Superfresh, WaWa, and others in the strip mall right outside the downtown district.
John and Peters held down the partying fort on the South end of New Hope, while Diana Michaels Jewelry and PNC Bank notably kept things open and tidy up on North Main Street. Dunkin’ Donuts was also doing a brisk business, and Starbucks was open.
