Kids were home again and many adults never made it into work Monday, as heavy, moisture-laden snow buried roads and sidewalks, and began snapping smaller, dead limbs on trees under its weight. Streets were virtually empty, save the the brave few digging out to help pedestrians and avoid a bigger load later. Many seemed to shrug off this latest in a string of snow events, pleased at least not to be thawing pipes with hair dryers for now as temperatures hovered in the low 30s.
