A citizen’s tip and fast work by Solebury Township police Thursday resulted in the arrest of three individuals following a burglary on Old Windy Bush Road.
Police say they received information around 1:40 p.m. on Dec. 5 from a resident of the 3400 block of Old Windy Bush Road. The resident reported a suspicious vehicle and persons exiting their neighbor’s house, and provided a 911 operator with detailed descriptions. Police from Solebury Township, as well as Buckingham Township and New Hope Borough, responded to the area when a New Hope Borough Officer observed the vehicle — an older model Oldsmobile mini-van on South Sugan Road. The vehicle and occupants were stopped in the area and identified by the neighbor as the suspects that had fled from the burglarized house.
The three were identified as Stephen M. Burke (28) of Yardley, Emilio R. Calderin (29) of Levittown, and Erica N. Pilla (28) of Levittown. The vehicle was impounded pending the investigation. The suspects were charged with related offenses to include burglary, theft, receiving stolen property and drug offenses. All were arraigned before District Court Judge Roth and sent to Bucks County Department of Corrections in lieu $75,000 bail.
Solebury police say the detailed information provided by the witness and the assistance of surrounding law enforcement agencies enabled the apprehension of these suspects immediately after they had allegedly burglarized the residence. “We thank this neighbor for their immediate notification of 911 with detailed information, and ask that the public call 911 or 215-348-7400 to report suspicious activity should they observe it,” urged police in a statement.
