Most of New Hope was still taking Hurricane Sandy in stride on Sunday, while quietly securing outdoor ornaments, flower pots, and gasoline cans. Many businesses on the river side of South Main Street had not begun moving merchandise/equipment up or out, although that may change as forecasts for the Delaware become clearer. The latest river projection is for 9.2 feet by Wednesday afternoon — flood stage is around 13. Silver lining: At least we know the canal won’t overflow. No one has any idea yet what may be coming our way, but New Hope hasn’t lost its sense of humor!
