The pump up at Center Bridge keeps chugging away, the state DCNR folks are keeping the Delaware Canal weeds whacked, and water is slowly creeping its way south toward New Hope — last seen Tuesday afternoon just south of the Route 202 Bridge.
While some canal observers think a second pump would be beneficial to the effort, others close to the situation say a prolonged rain storm would go a long way to solving the problem.
In any event, it seems more and more likely that New Hope’s section of the Delaware Canal will eventually see water once more, although when that might occur is anyone’s guess.
