“In the Mood”, a Bucks County Playhouse production inspired by the big band era of the 1940s, debuted to a packed house Tuesday and snarled traffic Wednesday on South Main Street, showing every sign of being a hit. Indeed, only a few seats are left for evening shows, with the special event running to Sept. 23.

“In the Mood” celebrates the music of Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman, Harry James, the Andrews Sisters, Frank Sinatra and others using historically correct music arrangements, costumes and choreography.

The “upbeat 1940s musical revue” features a company of 19 on stage, including the 13-piece String of Pearls Big Band Orchestra, the In The Mood Singers and Dancers, and a lively swing dance couple.

Information on ticket availability can be found at the Bucks County Playhouse website, or call (215) 862-2121.
