New Hope-Solebury Education Fund to Host 5K Run on June 4

The New Hope-Solebury Education Fund will host a 5K and “Fun Run'” on June 4 at the main school campus on West Bridge Street in New Hope.

The Education Fund is a non-profit organization that funds teacher-led grants in the New Hope-Solebury School District.

The race course starts at 180 W. Bridge St., proceeds to North Main Street, then on to Hardy Bush Way, and back on to the New Hope-Solebury School District campus. Roads will be closed for the race.

Registration will take place beginning at 8 a.m. in the Upper Elementary School cafeteria, with the 5K starting at 9 a.m., and the Fun Run at 9:45 a.m.

New Hope-Solebury Education Fund is still seeking sponsors for the event, with a deadline of Monday, May 1. More information is available by emailing edfundnhs@gmail.com.

T-shirts will be provided to all pre-registrants of the 5K, and prizes will be awarded for all Fun Run finishers, who also receive refreshments. There’s plenty of parking, ta ime clock at the finish, and instant results. The event is held rain or shine, with no refunds or mailed awards. And results will be available online in 1-2 days.

Awards for the male & female winners, and runner-ups plus: 18 & Under : 3M, 3F 19 – 29: 3M, 3F 30-39: 3M, 3F 40-49: 3M, 3F 50-59: 3M, 3F 60+: 3M, 3F Award for all 1 mile Fun Run Participants.

The entry fee for the 5K is $25 if postmarked by May 15, and $30 afterwards, including day of race, while shirts last. For the Fun Run, the cost is $10 if postmarked by May 15. Afterwards, including day of race, $12. Race day registration for Fun Run will be once there are as many entries as awards, so preregister if possible, say organizers. Also, no shirts are provided for kids due to the reduced fee. Register online now.

And on May 10, New Hope-Solebury Education will hold a shopping event at the Raven in New Hope from 4-7 p.m., including goods from ONEHOPE, India Hicks, Pampered Chef, Premier Designs Jewelry and more. A portion of the sales will benefit the Ed Fund.
