Christmas Tree Lighting Festivities Sunday Evening in New Hope, Lambertville

Logan Inn Christmas Tree

Logan Inn Christmas Tree.

For those who need a little Christmas right this very minute, Sunday evening offers a double shot of tannebaum action.

The festivities will begin at 4 p.m. at the corner of Bridge and South Union streets in Lambertville, where performances by the Downtown Players and the Lambertville Brass Band will warm up the crowd for the lighting of the tree, followed by a “burst” of fireworks at 5 p.m., and a visit with Santa at the Phillip L. Pittore Justice Center (25 S. Union St.).

A free screening of the holiday film “The Polar Express” will immediately follow at 6 p.m.

New Hope’s Christmas Tree event will be held, as always, next to the Logan Inn beginning at 5:30 p.m., with Mr. and Mrs. Claus arriving around 6 p.m. Listen to your favorite choral classics, race to grab cocoa and cookies, and take in an early taste of the sights and sounds of the holiday season, followed by another few rounds of fireworks over the Delaware River.

If you can, bring along an extra toy to donate to Toys for Tots. ‘Tis the season.

The Logan Inn is located at 10 W. Ferry St.; phone (215) 862-2300.

    • Jean, you have a good point. It was Sunday, Nov. 27. Since we publish daily, an article posted Sunday morning saying “tonight” wouldn’t fit our style book, but “Sunday evening” would be okay, because the overwhelming number of readers are seeing the article on Sunday. Future readers, however, could be confused…unless they read the dateline up top that says the day of the week and date it was originally published. -CS
