(Update 7:07 p.m., Oct. 1: Event postponed until Oct. 24 due to anticipated bad weather.)

New Hope-Solebury High School will be hosting its second annual Fall Festival to celebrate Homecoming Weekend on Saturday, Oct. 3 from 1-4 p.m. on Field One, adjacent to the stadium field.

The student government is coordinating the event, and invites all community members to attend.

“It’s a great chance to see what our school is up to, including all our clubs and fall sports,” said Student Body President Hannah Singer, a senior. “Hopefully we’ll have many families there, kids from all different schools within our district — and if the community comes out, it’ll just be a great event for everyone.”

Student organizations, clubs and sports teams will be represented at individual information tables. Groups will sell food, organize games and give away free goods. All proceeds will benefit student groups.

There is also a student volleyball tournament which festival attendees can observe while strolling along the line of tables.

The festival is in lieu of the homecoming parade of 2013 and years prior.

“We decided that so many students were involved in making the parade happen, that no one was actually coming to watch us,” Singer said. “We hope that more students could actually interact with the event, versus just being within it.”

Homecoming 2015 also includes a football game on Friday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. against Bristol High School, where the homecoming court will be announced.
