ACME Screening Room in Lambertville to present short films of Bob Krist

New Hope Free Press Bob KristLambertville’s ACME Screening room will present the short films of National Geographic photographer and local celebrity Bob Krist on Aug. 16.

While many are familiar with Krist’s visually stunning photography, few have seen his short films, in which Krist’s unique sense of composition, light, color, and cultural insight are delivered more powerfully with the addition of movement and sound.

Dubbed “Shot Around the World,” Krist takes us on a cinematographic journey to some of the world’s most exotic places. Krist won the title of “Travel Photographer of the Year” from the Society of American Travel Writers in 1994, 2007, and 2008.

The event is part of ACME’s Artist Visions series showcasing films about “taking creative risks, navigating life as an artist, and the path to self-expression.”

Screening of the film compilation and a question-and-answer session with the artist begin at 7 p.m. on Aug. 16 ($10 for members; $15 non-members), and a supper club ($60 with film) with Krist is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. Seating is limited, so consider purchasing tickets online.

A look at some sample cuts readily shows that Krist’s work in film takes his visual artistry to a whole new level and makes this an event not to be missed.
