Blank Canvas Gallery in New Hope will put the spotlight on urban landscapes by hosting Phoenixville artist Teresa Haag at her debut solo show “Connections” on Saturday March 8 from 3-8 p.m.

“Haag thinks of her cityscapes as a portrait artist would think of their subject,” says her publicity material. “She welcomes the little imperfections that are discovered only when painting or sketching a subject.

“For the Connections show, Haag has chosen to focus her talents on a study of bridges. The strong lines of street lamps and bridge rigging crisscross the canvas, punctuated by spots of color from street signs and car lights. Haag’s work forces us to rethink the mundane of everyday travel with a new perspective.”

The event is free, with light refreshments available. Haag will provide an artist demo from 3-5 p.m., with a reception for the artist following until 8 p.m.  “Connections” will remain on exhibit until April 13.

Blank Canvas Gallery is located at 19a W. Bridge St.
